RED SNAPPER

GROUPER BITE IS ON!

With the cooler water temps comes the Grouper bite! We have found Gags as shallow as 20 feet. Hogfish with porgies and grunts are over the limestone bottoms in water 30-60 feet. Best action is a couple days after a cold front and the water has cleared up. Bright colored deep diving plugs are tempting the Gags while trolling over 30-50′ ledges. Good numbers of Red Groupers coming in on our 6 hr trips.

Kingfish Bite is on!

It’s a big weekend for tournament kingfish anglers coming up. The old Salts King of the Beach is the largest tournament on the west coast of Florida. With all the prize money up for grabs expect to see lots of boats working the shipping channel from Egmont Key all the way up the bay to G cut. Slow troll legal mackerel, big blue runners, mullet and ladyfish for a shot at a big kingfish.

Red Grouper Bite is on!

Ledges and hard bottom areas are holding grouper right now. Dropping down a few frozen sardines or Boston mackerel will get all the small fish fired up and eventually call in a few grouper. Live pinfish and/or grass grunts have been producing keeper size fish.

BIG GROUPER, RED SNAPPER AND SAILFISH

While every day is different, it is consistently great fishing right now through the summer with big fish on the menu. On our recent trips we have been getting tight on some of the biggest fish of the year so far and it is just going to keep getting better. This past Sunday, we limited out on snapper and grouper and while headed back in we raised a sailfish on our last trip. I still have some dates …

RED SNAPPER

BIG Grouper bite is strong

Our 6 hour trip this past Sunday limited out on Red Snapper and Grouper in just two hours fishing. They were worn out when we headed back from reeling fish in steady for over two hours. We fished some ledges in 100′ ft of water out of Clearwater. We still have some openings……
